NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Singer-songwriter Lauryn Hill was 45 minutes late — twice — at the 2014 Voodoo Experience music festival.

The first time, her microphone was turned off while she sang at 7:15 p.m., when her scheduled time was up at a peak time on the festival’s biggest stage.

NOLA.com ‘ The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/1qlDmgr) that a Michael Jackson tune was piped into the speakers on the stage where Hill was singing “Ready or Not.” She kept singing, anyway, until the lights were dimmed.

About 45 minutes later, organizers said she would have a second appearance for Saturday’s final hour on the festival’s smallest stage.

That time, she again showed up 45 minutes late but was allowed to keep singing after the festival’s 11 p.m. closing time.
