Senior quarterback Moses Skillon led a Morgan State offense that tallied more than 300 yards of production, but the Bears still fell short in a 17-10 loss to the Norfolk State Spartans in the season finale on Nov. 21 at Hughes Stadium in Baltimore, Md. The loss ended the Bears’ season with a 4-6 overall record, 4-4 against the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Morgan State led, 7-3, at halftime after Skillon tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to sophomore back Orlando Johnson in the second quarter. But Spartans junior quarterback Greg Hankerson took over in the second half, first throwing a 9-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter to give Norfolk State a 10-7 lead.

The Bears tied the score up at 10-10 in the fourth quarter with a field goal, but Hankerson then responded with a 57-yard touchdown run to push the Spartans back ahead, 17-10.

Morgan failed to reach the end zone again, allowing Norfolk State to pull away with the victory.

Hankerson finished with a team-high 88 rushing yards and 128 passing yards.

Skillon had 185 passing yards and 55 rushing yards; Johnson led the Bears with 63 rushing yards.
