Coach Donald Hill-Eley was smiling as the scoreboard on Hughes Stadium reflected a win for the Morgan Bears. Coach Hill-Eley was quoted as saying, “It’s been a long time. I just feel excited for these young men. They have been working hard. We needed to have some success to continue to move forward. This 34-21 victory over Florida A&M’s Rattlers was the Bears first victory since October 6, 2012 when they defeated Savannah State, 45-6.
The crowd, representing a sea of blue and orange was excited, and the alumni and friends were sitting on the edge of their seats as the scoreboard continued to change from 14-7 at the end of the 1st quarter to 24-21(halftime), and the final score of 34-21.
Morgan Bears cannot rest on their laurels, as they will hit the road on October 19 at North Carolina Central.
