After losing her husband unexpectedly a few months ago, a Tennessee woman has found an interesting yet disturbing way to cope.

According to the Huffington Post, Cassie, a resident of Fayetteville, Tenn., was featured on the finale of TLC’s My Strange Addiction for her habit of eating her husband’s cremated remains.

The 28-year-old’s spouse died a few months ago from a sudden asthma attack. Following his death, Cassie said her “world stop turning.”

To cope with the sudden loss, she carried his remains with her everywhere she went. But one day, the habit took a strange turn.

After the remains fell out of its box and spilled onto her finger, she began ingesting the dust.

“I didn’t want to wipe them off because that’s my husband, I didn’t want to wipe him away,” she said on the show. “So, I just licked it off my fingers and… I can’t stop.”

According to Jezebel.com, she described the taste as a combination of rotten eggs and sandpaper, but has grown to love it. The widow said she has consumed nearly a pound of the dust.

Fortunately, at the end of the show, she checked herself into an inpatient care facility and was not allowed to bring the ashes. She’s currently under 24-hour surveillance.
