Nicki Minaj can add a new moniker to her list: Mom.
The superstar rapper and her husband Kenneth “Zoo” Petty welcomed a bundle of joy Sept. 30 in Los Angeles, according to People and other media sources.
Minaj announced she was expecting her first baby back in July via a series of posts on Instagram alongside several glamour shots done in the inimitable “Nicki” style—beaded bikinis, neon-colored wigs, knee-high stockings and bedazzled platforms.
“#Preggers,” Minaj captioned the first image in which she cradles her swollen belly. She followed that up with: “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement & gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes. “
Fans were likely not surprised by the arrival of Minaj’s newborn nine months after she and Petty tied the knot. About a month before, the Trinidad-born entertainer had surprised fans by announcing her retirement.
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me … Love you for LIFE,” she wrote on Twitter.
