A group of personal trainers are building bodies and bonds by hosting free workouts in communities labeled food deserts that are affected by social and economic disparities. In these neighborhoods, the life expectancy rate is about 20 to 25 years earlier than others and it is their goal to shift those statistics. This group hosts collective workouts at Lake Montebello on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in the morning from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, and in the evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The group boasts over 200 participants ranging from ages 13 to 60.
