Random House Children’s Books, publisher of President Barack Obama’s Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters released a statement last week calling the book its fastest selling picture book in company history.

Of Thee I Sing sold 50,000 in its first five days on shelves and is the third book from Obama following his memoir, Dreams from My Father, and political observations in The Audacity of Hope.

The book pays homage to 13 famed civil rights leaders and notable faces like sports star Jackie Robinson and President George Washington, while celebrating the nation’s diversity.

While addressing his daughters, Sasha and Malia, Obama writes, “”Have I told you that they are all a part of you? Have I told you that you are one of them and that you are the future?”

Proceeds from the book go to a scholarship fund for children of deceased or injured soldiers.
