Cardin to Hold Open Forum with Seniors at Charlestown Retirement Community

TODAY, Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will host a town hall-style meeting with residents at the Charlestown Retirement Community. Senator Cardin, Ranking Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and member of the Senate Finance Health Care Subcommittee, will brief residents on foreign affairs and issues related to programs impacting seniors, such as Social Security and Medicare, and legislation like the Affordable Care Act.

“Lifelines for seniors in Maryland and across the country include Social Security and Medicare, which was strengthened by the Affordable Care Act. I have been proud to support and defend those programs in Congress from some who would like to put them on the chopping block,” said Senator Cardin. “I never tire of direct dialogue with Marylanders about the issues that matter to them and look forward to discussing issues ranging from Main Street to the Middle East with Charlestown seniors.”
