NFL quarterback Russell Wilson and R&B singer Ciara are a celebrity couple, but they did something most couples would not do: They shared an intimate part of their relationship with the world.
In a recently publicized interview with Pastor Miles McPherson, of the The Rock Church in San Diego, Wilson talked about his new relationship with Ciara and how they are practicing abstinence because of their religion.
Wilson explained how they met at one of Ciara’s shows. While Ciara was backstage getting ready, Wilson was watching her and said, “God told me to lead her. For me I knew that God had brought me into her life to bless her and for her to bless me. And I was told if you can really love someone without then you can really love them.”
Ciara feels the same way, she has said, and is committed to staying abstinent until marriage.
“It’s until the deal is sealed. Absolutely,” Ciara said according to Billboard.com. “I think both of us look at each other and we’re like – whooo! But we take it one day at a time and keep it going with each other and I’m really enjoying every day that we’re sharing.”
In a video interview with HuffPost Live, Ciara’s ex-fiancé and baby’s father rapper Future said, “God didn’t tell me that. He told me something different,” when told about Wilson and Ciara’s decision. Future also admitted that he and Ciara actually prayed after having sex one time, which shocked him.
In a recent interview on “The Breakfast Club” radio show, Future said he did not like the picture of Wilson pushing the stroller of his 1-year-old son.
“At the end of the day, I’m not for the publicity stunts,” Future said according to TMZ. “Leave my son out of the publicity stunts. Just leave him out of your relationship.”
