Soul crooner Raheem DeVaughn is gearing up to take the Web by storm as he prepares to premier his own Internet radio show later this month.

The D.C. native will partner with BLIS FM to debut the “Raheem DeVaughn Show” on June 17. Alongside radio personality Deja and comedian Skiba, DeVaughn will address timely topics in technology, politics and fashion, among other topics.

“I am so excited about this Internet radio show opportunity,” DeVaughn said in a statement. “I have always enjoyed performing and hosting events, but I also have always had a secret passion for radio. This will allow my fans to have a personal interaction with me, and see me in a different light. They will see my sense of humor and get a glimpse into some of my favorite things. So tune in and enjoy.”

The show will also feature a health segment from the District of Columbia Cancer Consortium (DCCC) to promote healthy living and wellness. The three-time Grammy Award nominee, who’s also an ambassador for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) HIV/AIDS prevention program, will also provide facts and resources to educate listeners while encouraging them to practice safe sex.

The past year has been a successful one for DeVaughn. In early May, Washington D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray awarded the singer with the key to the city in recognition of his strong commitment to the community, the preservation of music and arts for the youth and his dedication to educating and eradicating HIV/AIDS in the District’s communities.

DeVaughn, whose politically conscious soulful work has been compared to Marvin Gaye and Curtis Mayfield, received his first Grammy nomination in 2008 for his single “Woman.” That following year, he earned a nomination for the “Best R&B Song” for the hit “Customer” off his sophomore release Love Behind the Melody.

This year, he scored a nomination for the “Best R&B Album of the Year” for his album The Love & War Masterpiece, which rode atop Billboard Magazine’s R&B charts.
