On Dec. 1, countries around the globe recognized World AIDS Day. To commemorate the day, President Obama hosted a White House reception for people living with HIV, scientists, policy makers and advocates. That same day, the White House released an AIDS blueprint detailing how it will work to help achieve a generation free of AIDS. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recently revealed that 1.2 million people in the U.S. and 33.4 million people around the world currently have HIV/AIDS.
