Made in MD: Cardin to Visit Innovative Baltimore Nanotechnology Company Pixelligent

Friday, October 7 at 9:30 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will visit Baltimore’s own Pixelligent Technologies as part of his ongoing “Made in Maryland” jobs tour. Pixelligent is among the state’s most innovative technology firms, manufacturing nanotechnology additives and materials for cutting-edge products like smartphones and LED television displays. Pixelligent strives to invest in local employees, having hired more than 40 new staff members to date. The company has received more than $12 million in federal funding thanks to grants from the U.S. Department of Energy, Department of Defense, the National Science Foundation, and others.
“Small businesses are at the heart of job creation in America and Pixelligent is proof that innovation and manufacturing are alive and well right here in Maryland,” said Senator Cardin, a member of the Senate’s Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee. “Pixelligent’s growth from a small startup to a world-class technology company is a testament to the importance of public-private partnerships and smart federal funding. They invest in their community and their success is Baltimore’s success. I look forward to learning more about their workforce and how the federal government can be a partner in their global plans for the future.”
