Comptroller to present 2015 William Donald Schaefer Award to Health Care for the Homeless

WHAT:           Comptroller Franchot will present the second 2015 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award to Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) in Baltimore, which works to prevent and end homelessness for vulnerable individuals and families by providing health care and promoting access to affordable housing and sustainable incomes through direct service, advocacy and community engagement.

Joining the Comptroller for the presentation will be President and CEO Kevin Lindamood, Board Chairman Mark Higdon and Mark L. Wasserman, senior vice president of External Affairs at the University of Maryland Medical System and other key staff members. Since 1985, HCH has evolved into Maryland’s leading provider of comprehensive health-related services for homeless adults and children. In 2014, 9,000 children and adults received a variety of services and treatments.
