Cardin to Mark Orioles Opening Day with Ceremonial Opening of Innovative Oyster Stout Made with Maryland Oysters
Senator to welcome new season with True Chesapeake Oyster Co., Waverly Brewing Co. and The Local Oyster, partners in new craft beer collaboration
Monday, April 4 at 12:00 PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will join Waverly Brewing Co. and The Local Oyster at Baltimore’s Mt. Vernon Marketplace for a ceremonial tapping of “The Local Oyster Stout,” a Baltimore-made oyster stout that uses only Maryland-grown oysters, which are farmed by the True Chesapeake Oyster Co. in St. Mary’s County.
“I am repeatedly impressed by the delicious offerings of Maryland’s small breweries and its oyster farmers, and applaud the spirit of collaboration that both of these growing industries share,” said Senator Cardin. “So with the start of a new season, I look forward to raising a frothy glass in celebration of the innovative spirit that makes Maryland such a special place.”
