Representatives for talk show queen Oprah Winfrey have denied reports that former NFL great O.J. Simpson is ready to confess to the murder of late wife on Winfrey’s new television network.

Rumors quickly circulated after The National Inquirer recently reported that Simpson would confess during an interview with Winfrey in a special aired by Winfrey’s new TV network, OWN.

The Daily Mail reported that Simpson, currently serving a nine-year prison sentence in Nevada for kidnapping and robbery, was ready to say that he killed his wife in self-defense after she pulled a knife on him.

However, according to The Hollywood Reporter, a representative from Harpo, Winfrey’s management company, told reporters “that’s not true!”

Winfrey did, however, state publicly at a National Cable & Telecommunications Association convention in Chicago that she had a “dream of O.J. confessing to me,” the Associated Press reported.

“And I am going to make that happen people,” she said, according to The Huffington Post. “I don’t just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson.”
