Washington, DC – On the eve of the second anniversary of the Maryland Firearm Safety Act of 2013, Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Maryland Attorney General Brian E. Frosh, Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, Baltimore County Chief of Police James Johnson, and others will hold a press conference on the fight against gun violence on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:30 am. They will discuss research from the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research on handgun purchaser licensing, federal legislation introduced by Congressman Van Hollen to promote broader adoption of state handgun licensing laws, and next steps in the fight to stop gun violence.
