The National Association for Black Veterans (NABVETS) hosted its 15th Annual Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Banquet Feb. 22 at Morgan State Universityโs ballroom.
Veterans of the military, along with several hundred guests, watched as eight Black History Month honorees were presented medals to honor their service to African-American military members and veterans.
Maryland Del. Clarence (Tiger) Davis made the presentation.
The honorees were: Thomas H. Wynn, Josephine & Richard E. Robinson Leadership Award; Master Gunnery Sgt. Joseph H. Geeter, Veteran of the Year Award; the Honorable Edward Chow Jr., Commanders Award; the Honorable Paul A. Smith, John Craig Lifetime Achievement Award; Hank Greenberg, Senator Decatur Trotter Humanitarian Award; S. Nicole Price, National Achievement Award; Trooper Mary M. Jones, Jacqueline Lanier Service Award and James Hill, Francis H. Brown/Edgar Lee Bell โSave the Childrenโ Award.
