Two people are dead after a car wreck in Forestville, Md. on Sept. 4.

Prince George’s County police say the wreck occurred at about 1:15 a.m. at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Parkland Drive in the city of District Heights. District Heights is an incorporated city of about 5,000 people in Forestville, Md.

Police say that it appears that 27-year old Howard Jackson was turning from Parkland Drive onto Pennsylvania Avenue when he was struck by a car that allegedly ran a red light. Police say Jackson and his passenger, 50-year-old Pandora Bracmort, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both victims are of Black descent.

According to Bracmort’s Facebook page, she worked at the U.S. Department of State and was attending school a Prince George’s Community College.  According to news reports, the mother and son were about a block away from their home when the incident occurred.

The driver of the other car, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
