Last weekend three more men were killed in the District.  Contributing to the area’s rising rate, the weekend’s deaths brought the total to 137 homicides in the year- 34 more than this time last year.

Antonio Dixon, 19, of Southeast was murdered in the afternoon of Oct. 20 on the 900 block of 5th Street, Southeast. When Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived, “they found that the victim displayed no signs consistent with life,” according to the Metropolitan Police Department. “The victim remained on the scene until transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.”

On Sunday morning, Oct. 21, at around 7:15 a.m., members of the First and Fifth Districts responded to reported sounds of gunshots where they found 28-year-old Marc Anthony Bolden suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  After being transported to a local hospital and life saving attempts, Bolden was pronounced dead.

Then Sunday afternoon 19-year-old Malik McCloud, of Southeast was killed.  Police from the Seventh District found McCloud on the 3500 Block of Wheeler Road Southeast suffering from gunshot wounds.  Even after being transported by EMS to a local hospital for lifesaving efforts, McCloud was pronounced dead.
