Governor Larry Hogan Attends Ribbon Cutting of North Beach Sunrise Garden
Administration Supported Project with $250,000 Investment
ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today joined Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., Calvert County Commissioner Steven R. Weems, and North Beach Mayor Mark R. Frazer to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the newly constructed North Beach Sunrise Garden.
“Improving the quality of life for Marylanders has been a hallmark of my administration and we are proud to have supported this project,” Governor Hogan said. “The land here at the corner of Bay Avenue and Third Street is now a point of pride for North Beach, and for the state of Maryland.”
The North Beach Sunrise Garden, a 30,000-square-foot parcel owned by the Town of North Beach, features new walkways; seating walls and benches; landscaping with native plants; water features consisting of rain gardens, shallow ponds, and waterfalls; a gazebo; lighting; and more.
The improvements, partially funded through a $250,000 investment from the state, make the garden an inviting place for residents and visitors to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the bay.
