Director Goldie Patrick and playwright Caleen Jennings are hosting an event called “On My Mind/In My Heart: The Voices of Women in Public Housing at the Anacostia Arts Center” on April 1. The Anacostia Arts Center is located at 1231 Good Hope Road S.E. and the event will start at 8 p. m. The event highlights women such as Linda Brown, Robin Fields, India Fuller, and Rhonda Hamilton among many others who tell stories of life within D.C.’s public housing system. A short discussion, facilitated by Empower DC’s public housing Organizer Schyla RedBlackngreen, will follow the event. Admission is free but donations are encouraged.
