The search for a missing Morehouse College student has come to a tragic end.

Kyle Coleman, 19, was last seen alive while out with friends on Friday, June 7. On June 10, dive team members with the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD)  recovered human remains from a body of water near his crashed vehicle.

“The FCPD Dive Team recovered a human body from a small body of water near Westpark Dr. and Galleria Dr. in Tysons. An FCPD death investigation is now underway,” said the department via their social media account on X (Twitter).

While the Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) have yet to release an official statement confirming his death, the Morehouse College International Chapel Assistants Program President Alonzo Brinson and Vice President Damarion King have officially announced his passing and offered their condolences to the Coleman family and friends, and Morehouse community.

“Kyle’s spirit, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the mission of Morehouse touched countless lives,” Brinson and King said in the statement. “His absence will be deeply felt.”

Prior to the discovery of the body, Coleman was last known to be out with some friends on the night of June 7. At 11:20 p.m. on June 7, an emergency call to Fairfax County 911 was made, but when first responders arrived at the scene, Coleman was not there.

The call was triggered by the car crash detection feature on his phone. The blue Toyota Yaris had been veered off the side of the road with damage to the front of the vehicle.

As the investigation continues, Morehouse College and the rest of the community stands in solidarity with the Coleman family.
