Dr. Tony Torain served as worship leader at the gathering to celebrate the new home of Carter Memorial Church of God in Christ, March 15, at what used to be St. Peter’s, the city’s second oldest Catholic church, at 13 S. Poppleton Street in Baltimore.
Elder Carl A. Pierce Sr., senior pastor, told the AFRO in an earlier interview that he knew the first moment he entered the building, that this was the place.
“Something just leapt in my spirit. I saw it alive. I saw worship. I saw activity.”
And with one sound, at the service of dedication, the shout went up with great gratitude for the heavenly provision of a new facility.
And in jubilation, Elder Pierce led congregants in dance as the Voices of Carter lifted songs of praise.
