Associated Black Charities announces โThe State of Black America: A National Virtual Revival,โ a nationwide gathering created to unite faith leaders, activists, and community members in a moment of reflection, truth, and renewed collective purpose on Dec. 10 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. ABC Revival is especially significant in the current climate. Across the country, Black communities are facing political backlash, widening economic disparities, and rising inequity. These challenges demand bold leadership and a strengthened commitment to justice. ABC is calling faith leaders and community voices forward at a time when clarity, courage, and unity are urgently needed.
This annual gathering pays homage to the roots of ABC. When the organization was founded in 1985, it was established by leaders from faith communities who believed deeply in the power of collective impact. They understood that real change happens when people of faith, community advocates, and institutions work together with shared purpose. ABC Revival carries this legacy forward by bringing together ABC, local faith leaders, and community members in a renewed commitment to fostering lasting change. It offers a space to reflect on the principles that shaped ABCโs early foundation and to honor the shared dedication to community and faith that continues to guide the organization.

โIn this moment, when our communities are navigating unprecedented backlash and rising inequity, we cannot afford silence or separation. Faith leaders have always been the moral compass of our movements, and their voices are needed now more than ever. ABC Revival is our call to gather, to tell the truth, and to reignite a collective commitment to justice rooted in faith, courage, and community. This is not just a programโit is a moral imperative for our time,โ said Chrissy M. Thornton, president and CEO, Associated Black Charities
ABC Revival will feature Rev. Dr. Jamal H. Bryant, senior pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, who is nationally known as a pastor, author, and civil rights leader. The gathering will also include Rev. Dr. Robert R. A. Turner of Empowerment Temple A.M.E., a national reparations advocate; along with Rev. Dr. Frances Toni Draper, CEO and Publisher of AFRO News, and Rev. Brenda White of Allen A.M.E. Church. Music will be led by Psalmist Minister Tamitra Scott. Together, these voices will guide participants through an evening of prophetic preaching, courageous conversation, and spiritual grounding.
This national event invites participants to strengthen their resolve, renew their commitment to justice, and join a collective call to action. ABC encourages communities everywhere to gather in unity and purpose as we continue the movement for a more just, equitable, and hopeful future.
