Actor Clifton Powell, best known for his role as “Pinky” in two of the “Friday” movies, has denied charges that he raped a woman in Louisiana last year.

According to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ, a woman using the pseudonym Kiyante Myers claimed the actor assaulted her in a hotel room in August 2011. Though the sex was initially consensual, Myers claimed she asked Powell to stop when things turned rough, and he didn’t comply. Instead, she said, he put his hands on her face and raped her.

According to media reports, Myers made a report to police last year, but the case was closed for lack of evidence.

The Louisiana resident filed the suit in federal court, and seeks $75,000 in damages.

The actor, a recurrent face in film who appeared in movies such as “Ray,” “Rush Hour” and “Menace to Society,” has denied the charges and plans to fight them.

A representative for Powell told TMZ, “Mr. Powell absolutely denies these false accusations and plans on pursuing all legal remedies available to him against his accuser.”
