Cardin in Ocean City to Discuss Tourism Promotion with Elected Officials, Leaders of Hospitality Industry

Senator to lead roundtable discussion on ways to continue growing visitation to Maryland

Thursday, August 14 at 10:45 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will join business owners, hospitality industry leaders and fellow elected officials for a roundtable discussion on tourism promotion at Harrison’s Harbor Watch Restaurant adjacent to the iconic Ocean City Inlet.

“In Maryland, tourism accounts directly for more than 130,000 jobs with a payroll of more than $4.7 billion. It is the tenth largest private sector employer in the state,” said Senator Cardin.  “What’s more, visitation to Maryland has increased 30 percent since 2007. I am committed to finding new ways to continue this trend, and to do what needs to be done in DC to grow it.”
