Since being elected in 2022, Attorney General Anthony Brown has demonstrated a commitment to criminal justice reform—establishing the Office of Equity, Policy and Engagement (OEPE) to combat structural inequalities, granting greater authority to the Independent Investigation Division (IID) to prosecute police-involved deaths and launching the Maryland Equitable Justice Collaborative (MEJC) to reduce disparities in the incarceration of African Americans across the state.

His proactive approach to defending vulnerable communities, championing of comprehensive price-gouging legislation and common-sense gun laws, make him more than worthy of the AFRO’s endorsement for re-election as Maryland Attorney General.
