Eight Baltimore City students participated in the NAACP’s national ACT-SO (Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics).
Two 2010 graduates of the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute won National Silver Medals, Eberechi Ihezie (earth and space science) and Vaughn Midder (biology/microbiology.)
ACT-SO students from Maryland were recognized with a total of four national medals.
Maia Bedford performed during the awards program in various dance presentations, Midder sang with the ACT-SO Choir, Jheni Gibson sang a classical song accompanied by four ballet dancers and Alana Bowers was a student presenter, announcing numerous awards during the program.
