The Howard Bison dropped their fifth straight game in a 35-20 loss to the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats Nov. 13 in Daytona Beach, FL. Howard (1-9) battled back from a 21-0 halftime deficit behind three touchdown passes from Terry Bradden. The senior connected with Daley Gunter for a 27-yard score in the third quarter before finding Willie Carter for a 41-yard touchdown at the top of the fourth quarter to make it 21-12 with 14:51 remaining.

The Bison had a chance to narrow the score even more late in the final period but Bradden was intercepted by Reggie Sandilands who returned it 26 yards to push the Wildcats lead to 28-12 with 2:44 left in the game. Bradden directed another drive and capped it off with a 24-yard toss to Brandon Drayton to slice the lead to 28-20 but the Bison’s ensuing onsides kick failed and Eddie Poole returned it 37 yards to seal the game and push the Wildcats’ record to 10-0.

The Bison will return home Nov. 20 for their season finale with Delaware State but should have added confidence after their narrow loss to the Wildcats. Gunter and Carter combined for eight catches for 228 yards and two touchdowns and Bradden passed for a season-high 299 yards and three touchdowns and should be motivated for his final game as a Bison.
