According to a press release issued by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame Committee, talk show host Oprah Winfrey and Black Eyed Peas front man will.i.am will receive coveted stars on the city’s world famous walk of fame.

The stars among 30 celebrities recognized for their contributions to film, radio, recording and live theater/performance.

With the announced retirement from her talk show, Winfrey is being honored on the Walk of Fame after serving for over 25 years as an actress, philanthropist, producer and host.

Rapper will.i.am, a newer arrival to the entertainment arena, has won an impressive seven Grammy Awards for his work and honored with a Latin Grammy Award in 2006 for his production on Sergio Mendes’ Timeless.

According to The Associated Press, John Pavlik, chairman of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Committee, said due to a large number of nominations, it was difficult to “winnow down” the list of stars to 30 people.
