Beloved and cherished are the memories of Charles Anderson Richardson Jr, called to rest by God on March 17, 2014.
“Sonny”, as he was affectionately known, was born on January 13, 1933, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Charles and Clarice Richardson. He graduated from Frederick Douglass High School. He attended Virginia Union University before serving in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
While roller skating at age16, Sonny met the love of his life, Shirley Ann, who preceded him in death. They married on January 29, 1956, and of this union three children were born. He worked at various jobs before being appointed the first Black Court Clerk in the state of Maryland, a position of which he was extremely proud. He also was a devoted member of the New All Saints Catholic Church for over 60 years and even sang on the choir and recorded an album with them.
Sonny leaves to cherish his memory three children: Donna, Carla! and Charles III (Chuckie); one son-in-law Mark; one daughter-in-law Burnette; four grandchildren: Nashira, Geremy, Jordan and Brooke; one brother Harold (Popo); one brother-in-law Ron; one sister-in-law Francine; and a host of loving relatives and friends.
