Day three of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament finalized which teams will be heading to the semifinals on Feb. 27 at CFG Bank Arena, bringing the student-athletes one step closer to the championship game.

At the top of the day, the Claflin University Lady Panthers beat the Virginia State University Lady Trojans 56-42. The men then took the court with the Bluefield State Big Blue claiming a late 70-68 victory over the Claflin University Panthers.

In the evening, the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos prevailed over the Virginia Union Lady Panthers 56-49. The Johnson C. Smith University Golden Bulls followed with a slim margin win over the 

Virginia Union University Panthers 64-63.
