D.C. Councilmember Michael A. Brown (I-at Large), stands with a portrait of his father, late U.S. Secretary of Commerce Ronald H. Brown, at the ceremonial naming of 14th St. N.W. to “Ron Brown Way” on March 25. The event, which featured guests including Mayor Vincent Gray, White House Chief of Staff Bill Daily and current U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, comes nearly 15 years after Ron Brown’s death in a plane crash in 1996. The street naming joins many world-wide tributes and programs honoring Brown’s legacy.
