A list of notable celebrities and professionals will convene at the Thurgood Marshall College Fund’s 24th Anniversary on Oct. 24 at the Sheraton New York City.
Gospel extraordinaire Shirley Caesar will host the event, which aims to develop minds and deliver dreams for the nation’s future leaders of industry, government and education. Cuba Gooding Jr., Tichina Arnold, Carl Lewis and Terrance J, among a list of others are set to appear as the organization continues its mission in the name of civil rights activist and Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.
Last year, TMCF’s dinner raised $1.3 million, and the organization hopes to exceed that number this year by doing a live stream of the event.
Hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons of Rush Communications will be honored with the organization’s Breaking Barriers Award, while UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will be honored with the National Humanitarian Award.
