Prince George’s County is home to several leisure spots that make it possible for residents to relax and have fun without taking the journey to D.C. One of those spots is Decoy Lounge.

Warren Green, manager of the Decoy Lounge, in Clinton, Md. said he believes his establishment could thrive in D.C., but he is instead looking at ways to expand in Prince George’s County. Part of his strategy has been to host various events and concerts at the lounge, located at 7401 Surratts Road, inside the Colony’s South Hotel & Conference Center.

As part of the lounge’s festive environment, patrons can enjoy Happy Hour, Karaoke, a DJ, live music, and sports watching parties. The lounge draws a mature crowd and there is free parking and reasonably priced food and beverages. Decoy Lounge recently extended its closing time to 1 a.m.

On Friday, the lounge levies a $15 cover charge before 9 p.m. and $20 after 9 p.m. and a $10 cover charge for the whole night on Saturday.

“It’s like home,” said Nate Morgan, a frequent customer. He compared the atmosphere to that of Cheers, from the old sitcom. “You know what you’re going to get when you come here. It’s very exciting and Fridays are the best night because of the Vybe Band.” The band is a local band that plays all genres of music, including funk, R&B, GO-GO, and jazz.
