The President has reposed special trust and confidence in the patriotism, valor, fidelity and abilities of Dextor M. Brookins and as such, he is promoted to the rank of Lt. Col. as an active member of the U.S. Army with a current assignment as a Force Protection Plans Officer, Joint Enabling Capabilities Command, Norfolk, VA.
Brookins entered the Army in 1987 as a Private and served 4 years as an Enlisted Soldier, 6 years in the National Guard and eventually received his commission as a 2nd Lieutenant through the Army ROTC Program at Jackson State University in 1997.
He is the son of Washington AFRO General Manager Edgar Brookins U.S. Army Retired.
