Longtime CNN Anchor Don Lemon aired his grievances about President Trump on live television May 3. The monologue came after a video of former President Barack Obama endorsing former Vice President Joe Biden was played.

Immediately following the video, Lemon questioned President Trump’s apparent “obsession” with the former president. “What is it about President Obama that really gets under your skin?” Lemon hinted at reasons like President Obama being “better educated,” having “made it on his own” without needing “daddy’s help,” and the fact that the former president is “a Black man that’s accomplished” who went on to be elected to the highest seat in our government.

By the next morning, the incident was a top trending topic on Twitter, with the reactions from users pouring in, either in agreement or opposition of the anchor’s comments. Lemon’s relationship with the Commander-in-Chief has been a rocky one, with the president criticizing Lemon, calling him “the dumbest man on television (with terrible ratings!)” in a Jan. 28 tweet.
