First lady Michelle Obama celebrated Mother’s Day early with a White House tea on May 7, according to USA Today.

Guests were scheduled to include former first lady Rosalynn Carter and her granddaughter, Sarah Carter; Anne and Susan Eisenhower, granddaughters of former president Dwight D. Eisenhower; and Tricia Nixon Cox, daughter of former president Richard Nixon.

According to USA Today, mothers of American soldiers in the Middle East and young women from the first lady’s mentoring program were also scheduled to be in attendance.

Obama’s mentoring initiative, which began in 2008, assigns girls with a female mentor from the White House staff. The group also meets with the first lady for encouraging speeches.
