On Nov. 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., the First Tabernacle Beth-El, 401 New York Avenue, NW will be hosting its Community Youth Empowerment Workshop in partnership with Deeds of Kindness Outreach Services. Youth of the community are encouraged to come out and share their thoughts on today’s issues of police brutality, the 2016 education, Black Lives Matter, and protests (i.e. Colin Kaepernick). This event is free to the public and refreshments will be served. Due to the nature of issues being discussed, youth 10 years old and up are encouraged to attend; youth nine years and under are welcome with adult supervision.
