Former D.C. Mayor Marion Barry tweeted Valentine’s Day wishes on Feb. 14.

“Happy Valentines Day DC! I’m going tb hugged up w/my boo 2night watching 1 of our fav shows #houseofcards. What r U doing 2day 4 ur boo? ;)”

The tweet comes after news outlets reported this week that he had been rushed to MedStar Washington Hospital Center on Feb. 11, the second time he was admitted to a hospital in a month.

Barry also second tweeted about his hospital admittance, saying he was not rushed to the hospital. He also said he was not seriously ill.

“I was not rushed to the hospital. I am not seriously ill. I have a urinary tract infection. I will be back.” he tweeted.

Barry spent 16 days in the hospital last month with a blood infection. He has had a string of health challenges over the years, including diabetes, prostate cancer and a kidney ailment that required him to undergo a transplant.

The hospital said Barry was not listed on their directory, and his communications staff could not be reached for further comment.
