Waterfront Wellness began its 2020 in-person fitness series on Aug. 1. Participants can join in on classes every Saturday through Tuesday at West Shore Park in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.

“In this current climate, we think the Waterfront Wellness program carries even more meaning now as a free and accessible way for the Baltimore community to care for their health and wellness. Our staff is taking necessary precautions and implementing new safety features to help Baltimoreans comfortably enjoy their outdoor workouts,” said Laurie Schwartz, president of Waterfront Partnership.

Baltimore-based Medifast and Waterfront Partnership hope to ignite healthy habits within the Baltimore community, and now, with stay-at-home restrictions lifted in Baltimore City, the program is set to resume with the following safety measures in place:

Physical distancing spaces will be marked 8 feet apart. Participants must stay within their designated area to maintain a safe distance from other participants. Masks are always required except while exercising in designated areas. Participants should bring their own water and yoga mats, and sanitizer will be readily available. Participants are asked not to congregate in large groups before or after class and everyone should arrive 15 minutes prior to class starting for a smooth and timely check-in process.

Waterfront Partnership Guides will be on site to manage class sizes, check in participants and help enforce social distancing. Classes are free to attend and all skill levels are welcomed, but participants are required to register in advance, as each class will be limited to 40 participants.
