Funeral arrangements for the renowned Baltimore businessman and World War II veteran Herb Brown will take place on Nov. 21 and Nov. 22.

Brown died on Nov. 4, at the age of 101.

He was a prominent figure in the city’s business and political spheres. In 1968, Brown founded the Mondawmin Travel Agency, making it one of only two Black businesses in the West Baltimore mall at the time. He was also a significant power broker in Baltimore who co-founded the Vanguard Organization, which aided in electing several Black politicians, including the late state Sen. Verda Welcome.

The family will hold visitation services at Vaughn Greene Funeral Services on 8728 Liberty Rd. in Randallstown, Md., from 4:30-7 p.m. on Nov. 21.

On Nov. 22, the family will hold a service of celebration at Douglas Memorial Community Church at 1325 Memorial Ave. in Baltimore at 12 p.m. The family hour will take place from 11 a.m to 12 p.m.
