Award-winning gospel star Yolanda Adams visited Prince George’s Community College in Largo, Md., on March 20 to promote high blood pressure awareness in the Black community.

Adams, who is also a nationally syndicated radio host, spoke in support of the Believe in Healthy BP campaign sponsored by Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp.

The event allowed community members to receive free blood pressure screenings and educational materials, including a doctor discussion guide and blood pressure log. In addition, an interactive, walk-through exhibit simulating a blood vessel was on display throughout the day.
