BALTIMORE, MD (July 20, 2015) – Governor Larry Hogan today extended an invitation to all Marylanders who have participated in a community service and volunteerism to spend a fun-filled Sunday at the Maryland State Fair on Sunday, August 30, 2015.
The Maryland State Fair will be held at The Timonium Fairgrounds, located at 2200 York Rd, Timonium, Md. 21093. The Governor’s Volunteer Appreciation Day is presented by Governor Larry Hogan, the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV) and the Maryland State Fair.
“Each year, over 1.3 million Marylanders make a commitment to serve their communities. In honor of their commitment, I am pleased to announce these heavily-discounted tickets,” Governor Hogan said. “The Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism has partnered with the Maryland State Fair to thank Maryland’s volunteers for their service by celebrating the 2015 Governor’s Volunteer Appreciation Day.”
To thank Maryland’s volunteers for their countless hours of service, Governor Hogan and his Office on Service and Volunteerism is offering Maryland’s volunteers discounted admission to the Maryland State Fair on August 30, 2015 at the price of $2.00. Each pass allows admission of up to five (5) people who have volunteered anywhere across Maryland during the past year. The pass will also entitle the patron to discounts on the purchase of food tickets and ride packages from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 30th only. The discounted food and ride passes will be good until closing.
In case of inclement weather that forces the closing of the Fair on that date, the Governor’s discounted tickets will be honored on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
The 2015 Maryland State Fair kicks-off on Friday, August 28 and concludes on Labor Day, Monday, September 7.
