Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP) revealed an improved outdoor play space at the Greenmount Recreation Center on Nov. 13. The rec center’s new space is at 2304 Greenmount Ave., in East Baltimore. It was formerly a warehouse and a series of vacant lots, which now has new play lawns, a rock climbing wall, a human-sized chess board, outdoor seating, and a new mural by artist Ernest Shaw, commissioned by the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts. The new space is designed to ensure members of the rec facility have opportunities for both indoor and outdoor activities and community gatherings.
