H.D. Woodson junior quarterback Rashad Cooper tossed three touchdowns as the Warriors crushed Friendship Collegiate, 25-8, in the DCIAA football championship game on Dec. 6 at Catholic University in Northeast D.C.

It was the 10th straight win for Woodson, who finished with an 11-3 overall record.
Woodson controlled the game from the start. The Warriors led 13-0 at halftime after two touchdown passes from Cooper. Cooper threw his third touchdown pass on the first play of the third quarter, a 54-yard bomb to senior receiver/defensive back Dโ€™Andre Payne.

Woodson later scored on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown.

The Warriorsโ€™ defense was just as impressive as their offense. Woodson recorded three interceptions and held Friendship Collegiate to just 8 points for the game.

โ€œWe worked hard all year,โ€ Payne told reporters after the game.

โ€œWe were the underdogs and were supposed to get beat by 30 points. But we just came out and played football. Now weโ€™re the champs.โ€
