Fuquay-Varina, N.C. – For the second-straight week the two top-ranked teams in both the Boxtorow.com HBCU Division I and Division II/NAIA national basketball power ranking polls are unanimous selections.

Hampton received all of the first place votes in the Division I poll.  The Pirates are winners of three-straight games and six of their last seven.  Morgan State moved up one spot to No. 2, while Texas Southern moves up two spots to third place. The Tigers are also winners of three-straight and nine of their last 10.  Jackson State continues to remain steady at No. 4, while Bethune-Cookman dropped two games last week and three spaces to fifth.

In the Division II/NAIA top 10 poll, Xavier (La.) was again the unanimous No. 1 and is the hottest team in the poll, winners of nine in a row.  Bowie State is the second hottest team with seven wins in a row and 12 of their last 13, as they sit at No. 2.  Tougaloo moved up one spot to third, while Winston-Salem State dropped one spot to No. 4.  West Virginia State remained at 5.

Benedict and Shaw each moved up one spot to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Stillman, who is a half game back of Benedict for first place in the SIAC debuts in the poll at eighth place.  Kentucky State had lost four games in a row and dropped three places to ninth, while Johnson C. Smith remained No. 10.
