HBCU Digest, a publication focused on historically Black colleges, will be holding its sixth annual HBCU Awards Ceremony on July 15 in Washington, D.C. The best and brightest HBCU students, alumni and faculty from around the country will all gather at the University of District of Columbia for the ceremony.

The finalists were chosen from more than 600 applications from HBCUs around the country. There is a wide variety of categories including arts, athletics, research, leadership, and community engagement.  A panel of presidents, chancellors, previous winners, students and alumni will pick the winners based on the nominees’ media exposure, impact and progress.

The HBCU Awards plan to honor and celebrate the great achievements of historically Black colleges and universities starting at 7:30 p.m. on July 15. Tune in to the AFRO Facebook page (facebook.com/AfroAmericanNews/) for live coverage from the event.
