The Howard University Bison were routed by North Carolina Central University, 41-6, on Nov. 14 at Greene Stadium in Washington, D.C.

With the loss, Howard slid to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in the MEAC.

Howard struggled on offense and failed to reach the end zone. They scored the first points of the game on a 39-yard field goal by kicker John Fleck but were shut out for the rest of the first half while giving up 20 unanswered points before halftime. N.C. Central led 20-3 at the break.

Fleck made another field goal to start the third quarter, but N.C. Central followed with 21 unanswered points.

Howard sophomore quarterback Kalen Johnson completed 19 of 38 pass attempts for 242 yards and ran for a team-high 57 yards on 14 carries. But he also tossed four ugly interceptions.  

N.C. Central quarterback Malcolm Bell was the star of the game, completing 16 of 26 pass attempts for 292 yards and two touchdowns.

Next: Howard will play its season finale on the road in a MEAC matchup with Delaware State (0-10 overall, 0-7 MEAC) on Nov. 21.
