Hello, hello, hello my dear friends. By the time you read this, my “Boo-boo” and I will be in the middle of the ocean on our vacation on a 10-day cruise, leaving from Baltimore on the Royal Caribbean’s Enchantment of the Seas. Honey-child, I am in Heaven! But, I didn’t leave you hanging, because I have a lot of entertainment for you to note on your calendar and have fun and party too while I’m gone.

This one seems like an exciting event; Carlos Hutchins and Anita Truitt will take you on a three-day bus excursion to the Poconos, Nov. 9-11. Your ticket will include: two-room Villa accommodations; two parties, concerts; after party, all you can eat breakfast; Black Tie dinner banquet, comedy shows, card games, shopping, line dancing and a gospel show. For more information, call 443-963-5711.

If your thing is hanging out in the casinos, well, the Maryland Live! Casino at the Rams Head Center Stage is featuring “The Fabulous Thunderbirds. This is a group that has been around for more than 30 years. The group’s distinctive and powerful sound, influenced by a diversity of musical styles, manifested itself into a unique musical hybrid via such hits as “Tuff Enuff” and “Wrap it Up.” As a matter of fact, the Rams Head have something going on every night in November.

Oh, you must put this on your calendar too! Phil Butts Big Band rehearses at Arch Social Club on Pennsylvania & North Avenues the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 7-9 p.m. and the public is invited to watch and enjoy. So if you are not doing anything on these Tuesdays, stop by and give support to these guys. Musicians love having a big audience when they play or rehearse. It is like the baseball and football players when they practice for their games.

This is for my blues lovers; Oh man, do I love the blues! “Big G” is having his CD release party performing with his band “Deep Southern Soul” on Nov. 3, at Chef Mac’s. Also on Nov. 10, Jay Moeller of the “Fabulous Thunderbirds” will be there. Chef Mac’s and All That Blues is located 4709 Harford Road in Baltimore. Show time is 8 p.m. Call for reservation at 410-319-6227.

“The Baltimore City Wide Reunion” is what they are calling it and is what everyone over 50 years old is talking about. Everyone is invited; east, north, south and west side; Cherry Hill, Park Heights, downtown and uptown. It is Cabaret Style, Nov. 10, at the Fifth Regiment Armory on Division Street in Baltimore. Entertainment will be provided by The Whispers, The Delfonics, Diane and The Ravenettes and Ms. Maybelle, the comedian, just to name a few. You can get your tickets at Ticketmaster, call 410-547-seat or at Parkers Barber Shop on Reisterstown Road or call 410-905-3845. A portion of the proceeds is to benefit the Rosa Pryor Music Scholarship Fund.
